Welcome to Langley Girls Ice Hockey Association

The Langley Girls Ice Hockey Association (LGIHA) has provided hockey programs for girls ages 5-17 in Langley, BC, since 1994.  As part of BC Hockey and the Pacific Coast Amateur Hockey Association (PCAHA) our programs provide girls of different ages and abilities the opportunity to learn, play and compete in Canada’s national sport.  Players not only learn to master new skills like skating and puck control, they learn about teamwork, make new friendships, improve their fitness, build self-esteem, and most of all, they have FUN!

There is no body checking permitted in girls’ hockey.

Our recreational (C) divisions include U7 (ages 5 – 6), U9 (ages 7-8), U11 (ages 9-10), U13 (ages 11-12), U15 (ages 13-14), AND U18 (ages 15-17).

Previous hockey experience is not necessary.

The season runs from September to early March.

Most house divisions typically have two (and occasionally three) ice times per week which are scheduled during weekday afternoons/evenings or on weekends.

There are no before-school ice times.  Special skill development sessions are also provided to both players and goalies.  Rep hockey, if offered, will have a higher level of training and commitment.

Registration is open from June 15 to September 4, so please register early to avoid being on a waiting list.
