About Us

Welcome to the Langley Girls Ice Hockey Association (LGIHA), a proud beacon of girls' ice hockey in Langley, British Columbia. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering, growing, and developing young girls through the love of ice hockey.

Established in 2012, our association was born from a shared passion for providing a nurturing environment where girls of all ages and skills can explore and grow their love for hockey. We believe in creating opportunities for our players to develop their skills, create lifelong friendships, and foster a sense of community, all while staying active and having fun.

Our season runs annually from September through April, with a diverse range of age-based divisions and programs designed to cater to beginners looking to step on the ice for the first time and experienced players eager to take their game to the next level. We warmly welcome girls from ages 5 to 19 years old, offering an environment that is safe, welcoming, and inclusive.

At LGIHA, we boast a dedicated team of coaches with a wealth of experience on and off the ice. Each coach brings a unique perspective, bound together by a shared passion for hockey and a commitment to nurture each player's growth. Our coaches focus on fostering the fundamentals of hockey, developing game strategies, teamwork, and cultivating a resilient, competitive spirit.

We stand firmly by our ethos of promoting sportsmanship, respect, and fair play. We believe our players should grow in their skills on the ice and develop strong personal values that will guide them in life. We foster an environment that encourages cooperation, integrity, and mutual respect among all participants, families, and fans.

Our roots are firmly planted in the Langley community. We value our strong ties with local schools, businesses, and organizations and strive to contribute positively to our community. Our involvement extends beyond hockey, with regular participation in local events, charitable initiatives, and partnerships to promote community enrichment and unity.

The Langley Girls Ice Hockey Association is more than just a hockey association; it's a family. A family that nurtures young girls into confident, resilient, and skilled athletes. It's not just about scoring goals on the ice; it's about helping our players score their goals in life.

Join us and be a part of this incredible journey. Whether as a player, a coach, a volunteer, or a supporter, there is always a place for you in our LGIHA family. Together, we will continue to foster the love of ice hockey and make a difference in the lives of young girls.

We're not just playing hockey; we're creating future leaders. Welcome to the Langley Girls Ice Hockey Association!
