COVID-19 INFORMATION

As we enter a new phase in our fight against Covid-19 we will be starting a new implementation of the Provincial Covid-19 proof of vaccination requirements starting Monday, September 13th, 2021.  The province has outlined new requirements in regards to entering certain non essential facilities and requiring patrons to present proof of at least one (1) Covid-19 approved vaccine.  As of October 24th, 2021 proof of two (2) Covid-19 approved vaccines will need to be provided upon entry of certain establishments.

 

PROOF OF VACCINATION

Beginning Monday, September 13th, everyone born in 2009 or earlier (except 12-18 year old's participating in a recreational activity) will be required to present proof of vaccination to enter certain establishments. Valid government ID for people 18 and older will also be required.  By October 24th, 2021 the Provincial Government will require those individuals entering certain establishments to be fully vaccinated, currently there are no exemptions as per the Provincial Health Order.

This new PHO Mandate will be applied to all facilities LGIHA uses (Sportsplex, George Preston, Twin Rinks (Canlan) & NHTC).  This will also apply to facilities that teams will travel to however some may have tighter restrictions.  Non player patrons entering a facility will require to have on hand proof of vaccination while visiting these arenas including;

  • Wallet-sized immunization record card (given at time of vaccination).
  • Printed or on smart phone immunization record from Health Gateway.
  • Immunization record from your pharmacy.
  • Valid government identification for people 18 years old and older.

The Province's official vaccine card is now available digitally through the Health Gateway website.  A paper copy may also be obtained by contacting the BC Services Centre Support Line at 1-833-838-2323 or visiting a BC Service Centre.

Youth participating in youth sports (games, practices or training) do not have to provide proof of vaccination. For information regarding spectators, coaches and team officials in arenas used by LGIHA see below. If you are from a visiting team and have any questions, please contact the manager of the LGIHA that you are scheduled to play.

 

SPORTSPLEX 

  • The number of spectators per ice sheet MUST remain under one hundred and fifty (150) at all times.
  • Spectators twelve (12) and older are required to present their vaccine passport to the Home Team vaccination screener. This LGIHA volunteer will be located at the entrance to the sheet of ice (not the entrance to the building) unless visiting teams have made other arrangements with LGIHA team that they are scheduled to play.
  • Team Officials must be fully vaccinated in order to be eligible to participate.

GEORGE PRESTON

  • Vaccination proof is required for all spectators twelve (12) and up attending GAMES AND PRACTICES. Those nineteen (19) years and above will also be asked to show photo ID.
  • Home Teams are responsible for supplying one volunteer from their team to stand at the door and check for vaccine passports / photo ID when applicable unless visiting teams have made other arrangements with LGIHA team that they are scheduled to play.
  • Team Officials must be fully vaccinated in order to be eligible to participate.
  • Rink is at full capacity.

TWIN RINKS

  • As of October 26th, 2021, proof of double vaccination (2 doses) applies to spectators who are twelve (12) and older, coaches and volunteers. In addition, anyone over twelve (12) years of age that would like to go upstairs to use the restaurant must provide vaccination proof.
  • Team Officials must be fully vaccinated in order to be eligible to participate.
  • Rink is at full capacity.

LANGLEY EVENTS CENTRE

  • Vaccination proof is required for all spectators twelve (12) and up attending GAMES AND PRACTICES. Those nineteen (19) years and above will also be asked to show photo ID.
  • Home Teams are responsible for supplying one volunteer from their team to stand at the door and check for vaccine passports / photo ID when applicable unless visiting teams have made other arrangements with LGIHA team that they are scheduled to play.
  • Team Officials must be fully vaccinated in order to be eligible to participate.
  • Rink is at full capacity.

NHTC

  • Vaccination proof is required for all spectators twelve (12) and up attending GAMES AND PRACTICES.  Those nineteen (19) years and above will also be asked to show photo ID.
  • Home Teams are responsible for supplying one volunteer from their team to stand at the front entrance before the stairs and check for vaccine passports / photo ID when applicable unless visiting teams have made other arrangements with LGIHA team that they are scheduled to play.
  • Team Officials must be fully vaccinated in order to be eligible to participate.
  • All spectators must watch from upstairs.

FACE MASKS

Face masks will be required at all facilities. Mask are not required while engaged in physical activity on the ice.
